Citizens’ Fund – Money for your Ideas and Projects
For whom? Residents and stakeholders in the southeast of Erfurt – in the districts of Herrenberg, Wiesenhügel, and Melchendorf.
Goals: Short-term, quickly effective projects to improve neighbourhood cohesion and community living, enhance the living environment, stimulate district culture, activate residents, offer sustainable educational and participation opportunities, public relations, and improve the area’s image.
Example: Funding for district festivals, district improvement projects, promotional materials for projects
How much? Up to €400 per project

Procedure
- Idea development: Develop your idea. It is recommended to seek advice and support from the neighbourhood management.
- Project Application: Present the idea using the corresponding form.
- Project Review: The neighbourhood management decides promptly on the application.
- Approval and Project Start: After receiving the funding approval, you can begin implementing your idea.
- Project Completion: Settle the costs. The neighbourhood management is happy to provide assistance here as well.

What is the Citizens‘ Fund?
As part of the „Soziale Stadt Erfurt Südost” (Social City Erfurt Southeast) programme, individuals, resident groups, and stakeholders in the neighbourhood have access to funds for financing smaller projects. These funds must be used within the corresponding year. In 2024, the Citizens‘ Fund amounts to €10,000. The fund aims to support projects that enrich the district.
Who decides on my application?
The allocation of funds is decided by the neighbourhood management of Southeast Erfurt. Applicants will be informed about the decision as soon as possible.
What are the funding principles?
- Only non-profit, non-commercial projects that are time-limited and located in Erfurt Southeast can be funded.
- At least one responsible person aged 14 or older must oversee the project.
- The maximum funding amount is generally €400 per project.
